First stop was the Dick Kleberg Park in the city of Kingsville, Texas. This is a large park where it looks like they hold all the ball games and soccer games. I wondered who Dick Kleberg was and why they named a park after him so I looked it up.

Richard M. Kleberg Sr. was born in 1887. He was a Democratic Senator in the House of Representatives for seven terms. He was the son of Alice Gertrudis King and Robert Justus Kleberg, and therefore was an heir to the King Ranch which is the largest ranch in the United States. The King Ranch is just down the road from the city of Kingsville.

The second stop was the Hazel Bazemore County Park in Corpus Christi. We were especially interested in the Hawkwatch Platform. This park is beautiful with lots of fishing spots. The platform was everything I hoped it would be.
