Vintage Holiday Whiskey Slush Recipe
The way my father made it
A family tradition at our house is the Holiday Whiskey Slush! I have mentioned it a few times and Randy Pulley has ever so graciously mentioned that he would be interested in the recipe.
Mom said she wrote that recipe down in 1950 when her and dad got married. It came from his dad who was dying at the time and her and dad got the recipe before he passed.
This recipe has been around as long as I can remember. When I was little, my parents got together with the neighbors one weekend a month and played Euchre and drank whiskey slush while all us neighbor kids played games or hide and seek. They are fun precious memories of my childhood.
These days it is a family tradition at Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Those are the four main holidays where someone will most definitely holler, “WHO’S BRINGING THE SLUSH!”
I have only known one or two people who got angry when drinking whiskey or alcohol in general. Everyone I know and hang around with has always been a fun drinker, so if you are from a family that can’t have whiskey or alcohol for one reason or another, I hope you still enjoy reading my families tried and true Holiday Whiskey Slush Recipe.
