Tips For Cooking in the RV

Keep it Simple

Since we left the house and full sized kitchen behind and moved into an RV, cooking is one of the things that has changed. Sometimes it is challenging.

Cook outside

I try to cook outside as much as I can. This prevents grease splatters that draw ants. We have a Blackstone Grill and we love cooking on the Blackstone. We also have an air fryer, so whenever possible we cook outside. We have a table set up all the time outside the door and keep the grill and air fryer out whenever we can. Just don’t forget to bring them in or put them away if it is going to rain. Don’t want them to get poured on.

We also like to cook over the open fire. Some campgrounds have firepits and some don’t. If we can cook anything over the fire we will choose that option first. The campgrounds we are currently at does not have individual fire rings. So I guess that is out this month.

Use exhaust fan

If I must cook inside I always turn on the exhaust fan. This helps pull smells and odors out so that later when lying in bed we aren’t smelling the leftover odors from our meal. It also pulls moisture and steam out which are not good for the motorhome.

Reuse the same skillet
