A deer is a deer — or is it?
We love looking for wildlife more than anything as we travel around the country. In Ohio there are a lot of deer for example. We were used to seeing them almost daily. Large white-tailed deer can be found anywhere in Ohio, even running across the road as you swerve to miss them. Most Ohio deer are cornfed and large. Whenever you head home after dark it is common to hear someone say, “Watch for deer!”
Our daughter and son-in-law live in the country and have a pond in their backyard. Now that we live in an RV, we park in their backyard whenever we are in Ohio. If they didn’t live in the country we would miss out on some of these special moments, like seeing a baby fawn come out of the pond after a quick evening swim.
As we explored the Olympic Peninsula in Washington earlier this year we saw lots of deer, but they were different. There were black-tailed deer and mule deer. I think we even saw a…
