Shopping at Shipshewana

The Midwest’s Largest Outdoor Flea Market

We camped at Elkhart RV Resort by Rjourney in Granger, Indiana for a week this summer and visited Indiana Dunes National Park. On one of the days we drove to the Shipshewana Flea Market located in Shipshewana, Indiana. This is the midwest’s largest outdoor flea market and auction.

The Shipshewana Flea Market is open May through September and is only open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We parked in the general parking lot for only $5 for the whole day. Admission into the flea market is free. Rich and I had never been here before, although we have attended some of the traveling Shipshewana on the road flea markets.

We were fortunate to get a parking spot right outside Entrance Gate 3. I found a dress I liked at the first store we stopped at right inside the gate but I didn’t buy it until later before we left. There are tons of shops and vendors. We tried to begin as far to the left as we could and went up and down each aisle, both sides, until weary…
