Who is taking the dogs out?

Today is a pajama day. Neither one of us has cleaned up, brushed our teeth, or put any clothes on. I am still in my nightgown, and Rich is sitting in his pajama pants. We have cooked and eaten with minimal dishes, watched television, I have written a lot, and he has played solitaire on his phone.

Every once in a while, the dogs go to the door and whine. Who has to get up and take the dogs out in their pajamas? Sometimes we just look at each other until the other one rolls their eyes and gets up. Sometimes we tell the dogs to lay back down because they can wait. Sometimes we desperately try to convince the other one to do it.

We have a pajama day at least twice a month. Absolutely nothing gets done. Dishes don’t get done. Laundry doesn’t get done. Cleaning doesn’t get done. We don’t take showers. We don’t go sightseeing. We don’t walk the dogs. The dogs sleep more than we do.

A benefit to pajama days is that they save dirty laundry. I wore my nightgown last night, all day today, and will just sleep in it again tonight. No dirty laundry today.

Pajama days are needed whether you live in a sticks and bricks house, or an RV or camper. It is a right and we all deserve them sometimes.

OK, fine, I will get up and take the dogs out.
