My mom is 91 and the last of all her siblings too

I don’t think I ever considered Nana my favorite grandparent. She just outlasted all the others. Nana outlasted everyone in her generation and some in the next — she was the oldest of seven children and she outlasted them all. Her two sons, too. And she was a widow for 31 years.
