We have been to the State of Texas before when our youngest son graduated from Air Force Basic Military Training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas in 2016. It was a memorable trip. We had never been to Texas before and our first experience included Rich getting pulled over within the first five miles because he was staying in the left lane on the Interstate and wasn’t pulling over to the right like he was supposed to.

I had seen the signs telling drivers that the left lane was for passing only. Rich had seen the signs too. He kind of ignored them and felt it was reckless to keep pulling in and out of traffic. The officer was kind enough to give him a warning and Rich stayed in the right lane most of the time after that.

Our second experience was getting mixed up and turned around on the confusing system of Interstate interchanges in Dallas and Rich hollered, “Get me off these roads!” I found a nice little side road that took us right through downtown with a stoplight at each corner. It was still less stressful than that mess of highways.

I just reminded Rich about that incident and to make sure he stays in the right lane because we will be in Texas in about an hour. He grumbled and rolled his eyes at me so hopefully he…
