According to the fact site, December 20th is National Sangria Day in America.

I fell in love with Sangria the first time I tried it in Florida three years ago. The photo above was taken in February 2020 and we had been at the beach all day so forgive the way I look. The first time we ever tried Sangria we ordered a pitcher. Had no idea the pitcher would be that big.

But we loved it and drank the whole thing. Sangria is not the same everywhere we go. This was the best I have ever had.

The basic ingredients of Sangria are the same.

Fruit (like apples and oranges)
Orange juice
A sweetener (like brown sugar or cane sugar)
A liquor (like brandy or rum)
Bold, fruity, dry red wine
& Ice

I like it best with oranges, regular white cane sugar, and rum. And it makes a difference as to which wine is chosen.

Happy National Sangria Day! Do you like Sangria? Today seems like a good day to drink some.

Thanks for reading.

You could also make a chocolate pie from Paul Gardner to go with your pitcher of Sangria. Can’t think of a better way to spend the day.
