Thank goodness they aren’t red fire ants or ghost ants or worse, like cockroaches or bedbugs. I have heard some horror stories.

Every once in a while, maybe three times a day, I would see a few ants crawling around on the counter in the kitchen. I smashed them with my finger and went on about my day. After a few days of doing this I started to see a few more ants in different places. One day I looked up and saw a whole trail of them crawling along the corner of the ceiling on the edge of the slide-out. I cleaned like crazy that day. Swept and washed walls, nooks and crannys.

They came back.

We are parked on a base of sand where a permanent trailer sat for 25 years. I thought maybe it had something to do with the sand. Sand ants? I made Rich spray a whole can of Raid* all around the outside edge of the trailer. It helped some.

They came back.

I made sure not to leave any dirty dishes sit, and always washed everything as soon as we were done eating or cooking. I made sure to be careful about crumbs and always washed the counters and table off. We started sweeping every other day or so.

They came back.
