If we have learned anything about living in an RV full-time, it is that little things break often. But most of them are easily repaired.
Rich climbed up on the roof to broom off debris from the trees, and discovered that the air vent cover to the bathroom sewer line was broken and half of it was missing. It was there in Florida, so it must have broken off during the three day drive to southern Texas.
Our RV is a 2003 Newmar Scottsdale. After 20 years, things get old and brittle and break.
We searched for an RV parts store near us and found one in Corpus Christi. We were pleased that they had a universal replacement sewer air vent for only $7.99.
The old one was screwed down with six screws that had to be removed first. Then he scraped the old caulking off to remove the whole cap. He cleaned the spot up as good as he could with the scraper and got as much of the old…
