Getting Ready For the Ride
Preparing to Move the RV in 4 Days
Christmas is over and our time in Florida is winding down. We have seen nearly everything we wanted to see in this area and are anxious for a new adventure. It’s Monday, December 26 and we will be pulling out of here early Friday morning, December 30. Our next destination is Riviera, Texas — almost 1,200 miles from here. Why so far away you ask? Had to go that far south to get warm weather. We thought about southern Florida and even the Keys, but we couldn’t find anything affordable. Who can afford $3,000 monthly rent? Definitely not us.
We like to use this time for cleaning, repacking, and reorganizing outside compartments and inside cupboards. It is so easy to just shove things in a compartment when you are living day to day and not worry about whether or not it will travel safely. Now we have to think about making sure things are ready for the ride.
My husband Rich is responsible for the outside compartments and I take care of the inside cupboards and drawers. Coffee* is brewing, the dogs have both peed and pooped*, and the duck hunters are popping their guns on the lake — 7 am on the dot.
I start by opening all the food cupboards and looking through what we have left. I pay attention to what we have and don’t have and make a list for groceries when we get to…
