In August we traveled to Wisconsin and stayed along the Mississippi River at the Grant River Recreation Area in Potosi, Wisconsin.

Grant River Recreation Area is run by the Army Corps of Engineers. Reservations had to be made online and with Rich’s lifetime National Park Pass it was only $10 per night to camp. Normally it is only $20 per night.

Our site had a 50 amp electric hookup but no water or sewer connection. Drinking water is available throughout the park and a dump is available when you leave. The view of the river was absolutely stunning.

I wanted to stay along the Mississippi River, but close enough to visit Effigy Mounds National Monument in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. The 49-mile drive along the river was dotted with other places to stop and see.
