Just down the road from the USS Lexington Museum and North Beach in Corpus Christi, Texas is Indian Point Park and Pier. Drive across the Nueces Bay Causeway and turn to the right. Do not miss these little places along the way. Sometimes we find the coolest things at the out of way places where nobody goes. This is a quaint little park, not much there but beach, picnic tables, restrooms, and a fishing pier, but if you are into collecting shells, or bird watching, this beach has some different ones I am not used to seeing.

I believe most of the shells on this beach are oyster shells, but I also found some other clam shells as well. I tried to research information to discover what kind of shells they were. I believe these to be the Eastern Oyster, which is found in all the Gulf bays and along the coastline.

These oysters are not only known as the Eastern Oyster, but also the American Oyster, Atlantic Oyster, Gulf Coast Oyster, and Common Oyster…
