Hate is too strong a word

Since I wrote an article about the six things I love about living in an RV full-time, I thought it only appropriate to mention six things I “don’t love” about it. Hate is too strong of a word to put in the title, because I really don’t “hate” anything about it. But I do “dislike” a few things. So here is my list as of now, after living this lifestyle for the past eight months.

Number 1. Missing Family

This has to be the number one thing I don’t like about our traveling lifestyle. We are so glad that our daughter and her family live in our home state and when we do go home to Ohio we can park in their yard. We are able to plug in and hook up to water. We love the time we spend there so much more than even when we lived in our own house. Living in their yard allows the grandkids to pop out and see us whenever they want. My mother is 90-years-old now and I talk to her on the phone regularly, but I feel that I could be missing out on her last years.

Number 2. Smaller Space

The house we lived in was small — about 3,000-square-feet. The first motorhome we lived in was only 300-square-feet. Quite a difference. I got rid of 90 percent of our stuff. We really don’t need a lot of room to live…
